Welcome to the Astronomical Society Aquila in Kristianstad, Sweden. The society was founded in cooperation with the college of Kristianstad (Högskolan i Kristianstad, HKR) and its purpose is to popularise the interest in astronomy among people of all ages.

The members are a mix of almost all ages and knowledge levels. Everywhere from newcomers in the hobby to "old" experienced amateurs - and even a professional!

Some of us has the interest to just observe the wonders of the universe or read about new frontiers in space exploration, others enjoys taking photographs of the heavens with more or less advanced equipment and some of us enjoy building telescopes, accessories and experimenting with new ideas.

Even if our interest within the hobby of amateur astronomy varies, we have three things in common, enthusiasm, affinity and a wish to support each other.
